2012 is here and with that comes a new motivation to conquer the year ahead! I spent my New Years Eve in the house with my two lovely friends. We had some New Years drinks and played games all night. Most importantly though we started a new tradition. We wrote on a piece of paper all the things that we wanted to leave in 2011. The list could include anything from people to feelings. After we wrote it down and shared it with each other we burned the papers! I must say it was very symbolic and I felt like I could start new in 2012! 🙂
So anywho.. My list had about 20 things on it but one of them was to stop worrying and let life take its course. I think everyone can relate to that feeling of not being able to live in the present because were too stressed about the future. It’s so many stressors in this world from money, family, love, etc. The reality is you can have a wonderful day that can instantly turn into the worst day ever. We stress everyday anticipating what could happen instead of being grateful for the present and the blessings in our lives.
I’m making a promise to live everyday like it’s my last and live in the present at all times and i’m hoping you can make that promise with me. Of course i’ll still plan my future and get things in line but I won’t stress over it. We only have one life and it’s important for us to live it in the healthiest way that we can and that means with little stress at possible!
What did you do for New Years? Do you have any New Years traditions? What are you leaving behind in 2011? Share your thoughts!
